In 2002, Degussa AG sold its persulfates plant in Rheinfelden, Germany, to Unionchimica S.p.A, which founded RheinPerChemie GmbH as a new business unit for the production and sale of persulfates.
In 2011, FMC Corporation acquired the European persulfates business of RheinPerChemie GmbH from Unionchimica S.p.A. It strengthened the FMC Peroxygens Division's global reach and broadened the company's product portfolio in environmental, electronics, food safety and other applications to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In 2014, FMC Corporation divested its Peroxygens Division, including RheinPerChemie GmbH, creating PeroxyChem, an independent company.
In 2022, Calibre Chemicals acquired RheinPerChemie GmbH from Evonik Active Oxygens
